Ideas and support for the Casey Commission on the future of adult social care

This week the Casey Commission on the future of adult social care begins its work. We've offered support and shared ideas with the Commission.

Drawing on thinking and ideas from across our movement we have shared these ideas with the independent Casey commission on the future of adult social care.  The Commission, which has been established by the government to ‘make clear recommendations for how to rebuild the adult social care system to meet the current and future needs of the population’ begins its work this week.

Our submission recommends that the Commission actively involves people who draw on social care as formal advisors, and that it takes the opportunity to draw on #SocialCareFuture’s work with partners to share a more compelling narrative about the need to invest and reform adult social care.  It then sets out specific ideas and proposals for action related to supporting early action, encourating innovation, reforming commissioning, helping local councils fix their ‘plumbing and wiring’ and co-production national standards for adult social care.
